The Embassy Adoption Program coordinated by District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) and Washington Performing Arts is a global education and enrichment program for fifth and sixth grade students in the DC Public Schools. Each participating Embassy in Washington D.C is given the opportunity to adopt or partner with one of the DC Public Schools for one school year.

The Embassy Adoption Program provides students with the opportunity to increase their knowledge and appreciation of the art, culture, government, traditions and geography of other countries.Uganda Embassy adopted Aiton Elementary School fifth grade class for the school year 2018/2019. 

First Secretary, Michael Bulwaka made a presentation to the fifth grade class under the theme “Things to do in Uganda”. Mr. Oscar Lukwiya Kinyera also made a presentation to the class on pictures taken during a geography field tour of Western Uganda.

The 5th Grade class students and their teachers each received a gift pack from Uganda Embassy consisting of souvenirs from Uganda at the end of the class.

The school visit ended at 12:05pm.
